1966 Ivory Coast 10 Francs Proof KM-1 Scarce Silver .925 .7435 ASW Elephant Coin

This 1966 Ivory Coast 10 Francs (KM-1) is a scarce and beautifully executed silver proof coin. The obverse features a sharply sculpted, right-facing profile portrait of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny, elegantly framed by his title and the 1966 mintage year along the outer rim. The reverse displays a striking, forward-facing African elephant prominently centered within a gracefully curving wreath, with the "10 FRS." denomination set directly below the bust. The nation's formal title and the national motto, "UNION DISCIPLINE TRAVAIL," neatly encircle the perimeter of the design. Struck in .925 fine silver with an Actual Silver Weight (ASW) of 0.7435 ounces, this proof piece exhibits deeply mirrored fields that contrast magnificently with the frosted cameo relief of the central devices, making it an exceptional artifact of post-colonial West African numismatics.
